MY STORY
the gratitude collection began
during COVID, when the world felt fragile and I felt something unexpected: an overwhelming sense of gratitude. For my health. For frontline workers. For the small acts of kindness that were quietly holding people together. I wanted a way to express that outward — to spread joy and connection at a moment when both felt rare. That became Maylay Co.'s first product, and its first purpose.
As life moved forward, that sense of gratitude stayed with me. But my own wellbeing quietly slipped away.
When I became a mom, I found myself in survival mode. I was doing everything I thought I was supposed to do — caring for my child, showing up for my family, supporting my husband, building a business. I wasn't unhappy all the time. But I wasn't truly happy either. I was overwhelmed, running on autopilot, and rarely stopping to check in with myself.
I tried the things people suggest: meditation, yoga, books, podcasts. They felt good in the moment, but nothing stuck. Everything felt like one more thing to manage — not something that could actually fit into my real life.
About two years into motherhood, I finally said it out loud:
"I'm not happy."
That moment of honesty changed everything. I started therapy, and it gave me permission to begin small — reflecting, journaling, carving out gentle moments just for me. I learned what I think I already knew: I couldn't care for everyone else if I wasn't well myself.
Slowly, I built a routine that worked. Small, quiet moments. Writing things down. Planning my days with intention instead of pressure. And then one day, I looked at the products I'd been designing — and realized they were exactly what I'd been reaching for all along.
Gratitude Cards, to express and deepen connection. Bookmarks, to encourage reflection and keep learning. Stickers and planners, to make everyday routines feel intentional — even joyful.
I design everything to feel calm and beautiful, because beauty slows me down. And now, I create these tools and in-person events for people like me — those building lives, families, and dreams all at the same time. People who want to feel present and purposeful, even when life is busy and chaotic.
Because intentional living doesn't have to be hard. It just has to fit into real life.
